The increasing interest in solar integration issues motivated us to organize the first Solar Integration Workshop in Aarhus in 2011. Since the second edition, the number of participants has always reached more than 100, and even 175 in Berlin for the 2014 workshop and 172 for last year’s event in Vienna.

The 7th Solar Integration Workshop will be held again in Berlin, Germany with a duration of 1.5 days, preceded by the 1st E-Mobility Integration Symposium and followed by the 16th Wind Integration Workshop.

The Solar Integration Workshop provides an international forum to:

• discuss project experiences
• discuss innovative ideas and present results from ongoing research
• stimulate interdisciplinary thinking between solar energy and power transmission industries, as well as universities
• identify subjects requiring more research efforts

Presentations are held by invited speakers from companies and leading research institutes as well as by workshop participants (Call for Papers).

The locations and numbers of participants of past workshops as well as its development can be seen in Figure 1.

The following figures give you some details about the past Solar Integration Workshop in Vienna/Austria. Figure 2 shows that the share of participants from Germany is relatively high, which has been the case at past workshops as well.

In August 2014 Energynautics also organised the first Chinese Wind & Solar Grid Integration Conference in Beijing together with the Chinese National Wind Power Integration Research and Test Center (NWIC), the National Energy Solar Center (NESC), and the China Wind Power Programme – Research and Training (GIZ-CWPP II). The conference focused on grid integration of renewable energy and its sustainable development, which attracted about 200 participants from grid companies, research institutes, manufacturers home and abroad.
