Study Trip
After the intense workshop days full of presentations we offer a fresh breeze: a study trip on Friday, 18 November 2016. The trip is considered a full-day event. The sites to be visited are situated around 20 km and 40 km south-east of Vienna.
Preliminary Program:
Meeting at the conference venue Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront and bus departure (travel time approx. 25 min.)
1st stop:
APG – Austrian Power Grid control centre: Visit of the heart of the Austrian electricity supply system. Get an insight into the APG-control centre and the substation Wien Südost in the south-eastern outskirts of Vienna. All grid information pertaining to the Austrian transmission grid is collected and processed in this control centre and its stunning architecture. As control area manager, Austrian Power Grid AG is providing a stable, secure transmission grid, especially considering Austria’s central role in the European electricity market.
Departure to the Energy Park Bruck an der Leitha (travel time approx. 30min)
2nd Stop:
Visit of a biogas plant
3rd Stop:
Visit of the wind park
Bus ride back to Vienna Airport (VIE)
Arrival at Vienna Airport (VIE)
Arrival at the Vienna Central Railway Station
Arrival Hilton Conference Hotel
Please note that the travel times depend on traffic which can be quite heavy in Vienna. It is very recommended to plan some extra time before your train or flight departure.

As the number of seats for the study trip is limited to 40 participants tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.
All participants of the study trip will get transportation by bus between the conference hotel, the APG control centre and Bruck/Leitha. A stop at the Airport or the Central Railway Station at the end of the study trip will be organized. A lunch package will be included.
